Update-1:22 p.m. 28 June

June 28, 2010

We are trying to get some better information about what kind of wait we’d have in the overflow housing before we sign a contract to take one. There is a lady researching the occupancy of the 13 houses that we are eligible for. Also, we have decided to at least look at what is available to rent off base before we sign for an overflow house. We have an appointment tonight at 6 to look at what might be a great house.  We think that we’ll try to limit the roller-coaster ride for the kids by not taking them along.

    Hi Melissa,
I’m sorry that once again your transition from one base to another has become predictably problematic. Take notes for the book you’re going to write: “How to Survive the Mayhem of Moving in the Military”.
    Here’s a positive-vibes acrostic poem:

    in a safe neigHborhood
    clOse to Kirtland Base
    in-groUnd pool
Suitable for six, home-school, visiting in-laws
    affordablE
Re the family in the pool image. Too much detergent when laundering the swimwear? Multi-tasking…washing bodies and clothes at the same time?
    Who’s babysitting?
Sometime explain the ‘Rubbermaid garbage can at church’ comment.
“Stud Muffin” would be a worse moniker than “Stud” for a military man, Chris.
    Chins up!
    Love,
    Mum
