Not the one

So, we looked and the house was “kind of beat” to quote Chris.  They were also asking way too much for it. $1,800 per/mo + $150/mo gardener’s fee. Anyway, that’s a no. 

We are tired, but are clinging to the fact that God is faithful to us. He has proven Himself a Faithful Provider.  He reminds us of that daily through little things. Yesterday He used boxes of our stuff to remind me that He knows and cares about little things. I have not been able to easily make myself a cup of tea since leaving Germany. Chris picked up some boxes that we had sent to ourselves at the post office along with a few others.  Inside one of the boxes was a new little tea-spoon that I had been missing and thought was gone forever, another box contained a new little Polish Pottery Tea Pot, and another contained my new “wasser cooker” that Chris ordered for me while we were still in Germany. All that I needed to easily make a cup of tea.  There were also some of our own quilts and blankets, a dust pan and dust broom, some oven mitts and some toys and games, all very useful and a great comfort. 

He has used my mother to encourage me:

He has also used my friend Kelly to continue to encourage me. Here is some encouragement that she gave me today: 

I was thinking last night about how long you have been in transition mode and thinking no wonder you are feeling stressed.  At this point, it sounds like things are changing daily, or maybe even hourly.  Hang in there and go to the Word!!  Remember that joy and contentment are a choice and not based on circumstances (or houses).  The Lord knows your needs and He will provide.  Love you friend!!  Hang on to this e-mail so you can send it to me when I am moving…I am sure I will need to hear the same things then. 

Kelly also pointed me to some scriptures: 

The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. Isaiah 58:11 

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.  8Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. 

 1 Thessalonians 5:12-28  

 12Now we ask you, brothers, to respect those who work hard among you, who are over you in the Lord and who admonish you. 13Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. 14And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone. 15Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else. 16Be joyful always; 17pray continually; 18give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 19Do not put out the Spirit’s fire; 20do not treat prophecies with contempt. 21Test everything. Hold on to the good. 22Avoid every kind of evil. 23May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it. 25Brothers, pray for us. 26Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss. 27I charge you before the Lord to have this letter read to all the brothers. 28The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

16Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers. 17Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. 18He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.
