Founder’s Quote

December 2, 2011

The following quote, today’s ‘Founder’s Quote of the Day’ from The Patriot Post, so perfectly agrees with the theme of my previous post that I had to post it here so the two will be joined together on my blog.

“The belief in a God All Powerful wise and good, is so essential to the moral order of the world and to the happiness of man, that arguments which enforce it cannot be drawn from too many sources nor adapted with too much solicitude to the different characters and capacities impressed with it.”  –James Madison, letter to Frederick Beasley, 1825

and another quote, this time by John Adams

“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate

to the government of any other.”

O.K., just one more:

“There must be religion. When that ligament is torn, society is disjointed and its members perish. The nation is exposed to foreign violence and domestic convulsion.” (Gouverneur Morris. Signer of the Constitution. Sept. 4, 1816.)
