Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #193: Camouflaging Die Cuts

December 16, 2014

Just a quick post to share a card for this week’s great Make It Monday challenge,ย  #193, Camouflaging Die Cuts, from Laura Bassen at PTI:

I used stamps from PTI’s Painted Poinsettias stamp set and a masking technique to create the background. I then die cut “Merry” out of the background and placed it on top of a stack of 5 other white “Merry” die cuts which I had glued together.

December 2014 004editedThis is another fun challenge from PTI and I hope to make a couple more cards for it.

That’s it for today though! Thanks for stopping by.

P.S. I have been experimenting with different white card stocks. I would like to find a heavy white card stock that takes ink well and is strong enough to be used as a card base by itself. If you are a card maker and have a favorite please share any insights in the comments below. Thanks!

This card is stunning. You made the most of the MIM technique. I use PTI’s white c/s; it has a great weight.

Oh and if you don’t mind buying in bulk, I absolutely love paperandmore.com ‘s selection of cardstock, I always have on hand their solid white 120# and classic cream 120# (100 sheets at 19.99 is a pretty good deal!) but have also been pleased with their entire selection, including metallics and vellum. Hope this helps!
